Here's a new small and simple one. :)

It does octave up and octave down that can be blended together for super synthy sounds.
The octave up is based around a PLL so it doesn't scramble chords like a normal octave fuzz.
It can even do two octaves up it tracks well over the entire fretboard.

You can fastforward a minute or so...

A question about mods. Would it be possible to have 4 toggles instead, that would allow you to turn on/off each octave thats available individually. Rather than selecting one or the other. You could have both!

4 On/Off toggles for:

1. 1 octave down
2. 2 octaves down
3. 1 octave up
4. 2 octaves up

Would be pretty cool to have many octaves at once.

Good thinking, but i'm afraid that having several octaves at the same time isn't possible here without modding the overall structure of the circuit.
The switches are in the feedback loop of the Shifter register, so adding both outputs would result in a detuned output (or possible non-working) insted of two octaves at the same time.

Ah cool. I just gotta track down some 4015 chips then I'll be putting this together. I love that this one has a cleaner tone to it.

BTW, I'm VERY interested in the big brother of this that you mention on your site! Can't wait for that one!

Hi Freppo!

This was my latest build! It's my first on a PCB and it built without any issues.

I haven't played with it too much, other than just switching it on in a 'creative jam' at rehearsals and seeing what happens. It's quite sensitive and will take a little time for me to get the 'style' right, but I love it. :)

BTW. Bitsbox in the UK have 4015s etc.

Sure think dude! It's unfinished and in the studio at the moment, but I'll grab it and take a few snaps as soon as I can.

I got 2 boards because I knew I was going to use it straight away so the plan is to build No. 2 and finish it properly then swap. You might be waiting a few weeks for a nice finished one :o

I'll try slapping a Split N Blend in this.

A pot for blending in the straight square wave fuzz should be easy.

Use a B50K or B100K pot.
Connect lug 3 to CD4069 pin 10 (row 6 on the right side)
Connect lug 2 to the 100nF cap before the volume pot (row 5 right side)
and Lug 1 to ground.
