150k Log pot?

I'm cutting the board to build a Mutron III and it calls for a 150k Log pot. What would be the best way to make something close? Use a 250k with a resistor?

I remember trying to find a value for it and apparently its 250K + 470K

MMM, I'm fairly certain that adding a resistor to a pot will affect the sweep...

Just click Linear Pot on the left side, enter what pot you have and what pot you want to have, and there you go.

I think maybe the most accurate way to do it would be to take a 100K log dual gang pot and a 50K dual gang pot. Open them up and swap the top wafers.

Now each pot has a 100K log wafer and a 50K wafer. Wire the two elements of each dual pot in series with each other making each pot like a single 150K log

I read about this here and have not tried it myself so I can’t comment on how easy it is to modify the pots but I like the idea because it should have a predictable taper and resistance

I'm gonna try that, I think I have both of those dual gangs. I'll try a resistor across a 250 also. I'll report back on my findings. Thanks dudes!

Speaking of swapping wafers, all the pots I buy you have to break the washer in to pieces to remove the wafer cos the washer is stamped in by the shaft. Anyone else noticed that? Is there a way around this?
