9v Silent Switching Daughterboard conversion to 5volt?

Hi Everyone,

Can the 9volt Silent Switching Daughterboard by IvIark be converted to operate a 4.5 or 5 volt latching relay?

Cheers

An easy way to get 5V from a different supply is to use a 78L05. Connect 9V to "I", ground to "G", and "O" is your regulated 5V output which can supply the relay it's 5V.

Hi Travis, yeah I've done that funny enough but the relay won't operate and I'm wondering if the switching circuit needs a tweak too! The relay works in the  40106 CMOS circuit using a 2n3904 and 2N3906 and the trouble is with this design if the voltage drops below 9 by just .1 of a volt it doesn't work so no good for battery operations, thats why I like this circuit it's by far the best one. I've breadboarded so I will plod on and try some different trannies!

Anyway thanks for your reply
Cheers
