Adding Gieri's blend knob to the Dyna Comp. How to take signal from the emitter of Q1?

This isn't really a debugging question because I haven't built it yet, but a question before I start.

I want to build the dyna comp clone (http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/07/mxr-dyna-comp.html) circuit with Gieri's blend knob modification (http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/p/forum.html).
 
I have built the dyna comp in the past without the blend knob and it worked just fine.  
 
My question is, since it wants an input from the Q1 emitter, will this (https://imgur.com/a/L6cG4pC) idea work?
