Hey mate, I have to insist with the electros. That a cap gets a correct mesure doesn't mean that the cap itself is not noisy or works well in an audio circuit. Something similar happened with a bunch of extremely expensive pots that were noisy as hell.

I had a lot of 47uf, 25v caps purchased at my local store that did measure right but the circuits I built using them were way noisier than any other one  before.

I did throw'em to the bin,  and purchased new ones: noise problem solved. Never used this brand again.

Hope it helps

I finally got those working properly without this annoying background noise.
The problem came with the TL072
The one I used came from a cheap batch of 100 coming from ebay. They all work great in many build...except the Klon that looks to be touchy with opamps.
I bought a new batch from Musikding (they are Texas Instrument), put them in place and bingo, problem solved

I was just about to order 100 TL072s from China, but I think I might avoid that now....

Well, the chinese ones I got work fine with all my builds using TL072, except the Klon
So if you consider building a Klon, you should try to source good quality ones
My 2 cents

Re: CRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :(

What about using one in the TL072 version of the Klon Buffer? Reckon that might make things a bit noisy or is it only gain related shizzle?

I made a Klon buffer with a TL072 that I pulled out of a pedal that I modded and it seems fine so far, but that one could have been a decent one anyway....

I wonder what causes them to misbehave in a Klon.

Why not order some samples straight from TI? ;)

How does this work? What's the price and can I do this in the UK?
