I asked this question on the layout's page but thought it might get more traction here. Apologies if this if frowned upon.
I've built the Gain Changer (
layout page) with foot switchable volume/gain pots and eq switches, in an attempt to have a rhythm and lead setting in a single pedal. The problem is I get popping when toggling between the eq switches, if they add the 8k2 or 16k resistors. No/minimal noise if the eq switches are both in the off position (no resistors). I ran vol 3 to the center lug of a 3pdt and the the other 2 lugs to eq 2 of each switch.
I own a Gain Changer and confirmed that the eq switch causes the same popping when toggling between positions, so this must be by design.
I'm simply a constructor of these pedals and have no idea what is happening inside the circuit. Is there anything I can do to prevent the 3pdt from popping when toggling between the eq switches?
If it helps Barber has his schematic posted here
