Battery snap wiring
Having never bothered with batteries, I've never looked into wiring them so before I go ahead I just want to make sure that this (pic) way of wiring one will disconnect the battery when the guitar is unplugged?

Yes, that's the way to cut the battery circuit.
Negative wire of the battery snap to the input's ring, and ground wire from input's sleeve to board's groun.
This way, when you plug a mono jack, the circuit is closed and when you unplug it, the circuit's open, so, no baterry waste.
