Best slap back delay

zosotone
I want to build a transparent delay pedal with a short delay time (slap back). What do you think is the best project? Maybe:

- 1776 Multiplex Jr.  http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com.es/2015/12/1776-multiplex-jr.html

- Grind Customs FX DeProfundis  http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com.es/2014/04/grind-customs-fx-deprofundis-delay.html

- Mad Professor Deep Blue Delay  http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com.es/2012/02/mad-professor-deep-blue-delay.html

Cheers.

Juan.

I'm generally not crazy about PT2399 delays for slapback. My choice for a stompbox delay is the Boss DM-2.

Of those three options the Multiplex and Deprofoundis are major overkill for slapback. The only one that makes sense really is the Deep Blue, but again the DM-2 is much better for short delays IMO

For slapback, check out these guys:

Way Huge - Aqua Puss (can find it on Sabrotone's site)
Wampler - Analog Echo (pretty sure that's here)

and finally, not sure if a vero exits for it, but the Danelectro Fab Echo is excellent at slapback. It's a cheap pedal, in case you can't find a vero you should be able to purchase it new for under 30 bucks.

Can also vouch for the DM2. Great pedal.. does slapback and more.

The Aqua Puss is sweet it's worth mentioning that it's essentially a DM-2 copy. All good suggestions really

I like the DM-2 because it melds together beautifully with the instrument you're playing. It's super easy to get a sound where the delay isn't cluttering things up or too quiet, it sounds just right. No weird issues with bypass, crappy mix control,  or volume drops etc like so many analog delays out there. It's just a simple to use very good sounding delay if you don't need a long delay time

Thanks mates! I thing that I will go for the Madbean Leviathan (Wampler Faux Analog Echo Delay), but I'm worried about the issues with the tone control.

The DM-2 and the Aqua Puss are great but too big projects for me now. Maybe I may find some PCB's...

Done a layout for a modified EHX Full Double Tracking a while back and completely forgot about it.
It's a slap back pedal with an added boost to solve the volume drop issue.
Here is the original thread:

I'll add it in Contributions if anybody is interested.

the wonderful fuzzdog does a kit or pcb for cj's box of hall ('the verb').
might be worth checking out a few yt clips. smallish build with belton brick.

or as others have mentioned, danelectro do some nice cheap as hell delays and echos. they seem to have a real instinct for nailing that classic mystery train slapback thang.
