I've tried the Split n' bleed as well as the little simple blend circuit that I posted. They don't work with Ross-style comps (Ross compressor, Dynacomp, Keeley 4-knob comp) because the dry and wet signal cancel each other out, causing the whole thing to act weird.
This circuit was designed to work with a Ross type compressor. I've yet to test it but I figured I'd share it anyways if anyone's interested.
Please note how to implement this!!
- The volume control for the compressor is omitted for this. So don't wire a volume control like the compressor circuit suggests.
- The 10K resistor that goes to "level 3" is the breaking point and from there you feed it into the blend circuit. So that end of the 10K goes to "comp output" on the blend circuit.
- You don't feed the input from the stomp switch. The input feeds into the compressor like normally. You take the signal from the emitter of Q1 and feed that into the input of the blend circuit.
Excuse the shitty little layout but I was trying to keep it small:
Here's the schematic:
I will most likely verify this tomorrow.
