Boss DS-1 Question

Hi folks...
Volume issue have been an overly discussed thing about this pedal.-
I have one and I like it a lot, but with my new guitar it only reach unity on mid to hi gain settings.
I've been looking the schematics and reading a lot about mods and stuff... but I haven't read anybody talking about the last resistor before output (and a cap). It might be because it has nothing to do with volume and I'm completely wrong... but I'm a little obstinated and I have to ask:
What if I replace the last resistor before output cap with a jumper? It could modify the volume or I'm just doing a mess?
