Box of Rock - Loud pop when switching SHO

negativefx
Hey everyone,

I'm aware that popping can happen with the SHO by itself or in a BoR.  Fortunately, mine worked fine for about 2 weeks with no popping.  I went through and set all my pedal levels for my new pickups yesterday afternoon and the SHO was quiet as a whistle when switching.  Last night during practice, the SHO side of the BoR was popping so loud that it was clipping my amp at 8 o'clock volume, 11 o'clock gain.  Any ideas as to how I could reduce the pop?  I have no idea what changed other than possibly some wires shifted if I bumped the pedal board. It was a solid build though, no rattling or anything from the pedal.

Surgeon
I built a few SHOs and the only ones that popped were the ones for which the switch wiring didn't ground the board input when put in bypass mode.... dunno if that's what's wrong with yours but definitely something to look at.

Thanks Surgeon, I'll take a look at mine later today.  I used the 2-switch offboard wiring diagram provided on this site.
