Box of Rock different from Distortron?

Marbles
Hey Guys,

I'm not that good at reading the veros and I was wondering if there are any differences. Ofcourse I can see that some values are different on the layouts:

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.nl/2013/10/zvex-distortron.html

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.nl/2011/09/zvex-box-of-rock-dirt-side-vero.html

But I don't know if they are only different becaause there is added switching/ pot resistance on the distortron layout (if that makes sense).

I heard the Distortron was basically the dirt side of the Box of Rock with added switches. The Box of rock just has the SHO added.

I always felt the pedals were a bit too 'transparent' for my taste judging demo's, but after using the superduper for a while, I came to love the shimmer and leave it on always.

So, long story short: I want to build one of them. Doubting which. Has someone built them both and are they the same? In that case it's maybe better to build the Distortron and add the SHO in one box I guess?

In that case I have the added switches and would it be pointless to build the Box of Rock?

Hope anyone knows

Also - check out my layout for Madbean's Distortron workalike - Boomstick:

It think it sounds pretty good after I modded it.  The layout is verified.

Hi my friend,

I have the Distortrone build and I like it a lot.

It pares with my different types of telecasters nicely and
also sounds like an overdrive :) because has the switch to choose
 3 (I think) settings.

It's not a high gain pedal, and I like the soft side of it.
SHO is pretty simple I had a bit problem with it because it gives more then 20db
boost. Awesomely sounding but I cold not find a cure for the pop sound with a 3pdt
switch.
I made the Katana instead and thats the last boost I'll eve build and use.

I hope this is of some help.

p.s for the Distortron I'm sure that you'll find a use for this pedal in some setup.

Cheers
