ok, salvaged a 10k audio pot for the hi pass and it's all as it should be now.
currently playing around with that 39uf cap spot with leads running to a bread board. 10uf, 47uf and 100uf all sound great respectively, even went as low as 4.7uf and it is super snappy. I can't decide!
considering a 3p4t rotary switch to have them all. why not?

sorry about your snow.

Cool, no doubt I'll be adding a "decay" switch to mine.

I tried both Tayda LDRs and 5516s, neither really cut it regardless of LED color/type. I don't think these LDRs light resistance is low enough for this application.

I suggest sticking with the NSL-32 (specs seem identical to the original CLM6000s that Craig had used)

Thanx for giving those ldrs a test. I have yet to order the nsl32, currently looking at smallbear's selection of ldr as well for a couple other projects.
I'm actually impressed by how it sounds with the tayda ldr so can't wait to hear the proper ones.
Did you get a chance to play around with the decay switch idea? I'm loving 10uf and 47uf.

Sorry, haven't tried the decay caps yet, been finishing up a couple other pedals and trying to get the Anderton Phase Shifter more to my liking.

Any chance you can record a clip with the Tayda LDRs?

I'd like to hear how yours compares to mine.

Hello

I built it today (using the tagboardeffect layout i found first) : it sounds gorgeous !

Everything works fine and as expected, except that, like Muadzin wrote above, " Lo/Hi switch causes oscillation (a hi pitched whine) when I turn it on".
Muadzin, did you manage to fix it ?

Hey MAO, any idea as to how can I adapt the envelope follower to make a Slow Gear type effect?

I'm not familiar with the Slow Gear, I'll check it out and get back to you asap.

I have been recently using the envelope control from the VFE old school trem on phasers, chorus, flangers etc. Mostly on their speed, intensity and/or depth controls. Works well.

Hi MAO, funny I was just singing praise to you about this device in another post recently in the requests section. I'll do it " in person" now. Thanks again. this build inspired me to experiment a bit and has led to untold hours of enjoyment.

I mentioned that I had built the envelope follower board (with slight modifications) into a stand alone device to control other pedals. It works well. Highly recommend it on Escebedo's ugly face fuzz and PWM fuzz.

That being said, by far the most tweak-able envelope control set I've come across yet belongs to Chunk System's Agent 00Funk.
I'm currently "stealing" voltage from that pedal to use on other pedals. I just tapped into where the internal LED  and parallel wired a jack out. not elegant but very functional. check into it if you want a great control set.

I'm going to have to try the VFE now.

Thanks for the kind works Clockman!

I should say, the VFE responds differently than the Anderton EF. Checkout a couple of the Old School Trem videos to be sure it will work for you.

I haven't tried to modify the Old School EF, I've been using it just like he does. But Im sure it can be tweaked to adjust the attack and/or release time.

I have a layout for just the EF portion if you want to give it a try.

Yes, it's engaged with the switch. Controlling either the speed or depth.

I did draw a layout for just the EF section, let me know of you want to try it.

Well here's the deal, I want it to auto swell like the Boss Slow Gear, or the Paia Gator, problem is I have no idea how to make that

Can't believe I didn't know about the Boss Slow Gear before today!

Don't quite understand how that one actually works at the moment.

Maybe Madbean's Rust Bucket 2019 will get you that swell?

Yeah, that's the deal, I am looking for something smaller and simpler. Something to rival the attack part of a POG2 or the likes.

Though I guess a good place to start is basically with this:
