Crushers that don't whine!!

Hi,

Has anyone successfully built a descent bit crusher that doesn't whine so much?

I'd really like to sort out the Heliotrope. Can anyone help on this one please?

Freppo designed a cool way of using an envelope detector to shut off the LFO on a bit crusher/aliaser circuit when the guitar signal falls below a level preset via a sensitivity control. I added it to the Heliotrope: Does the job pretty well.
