Have you tried physically moving the input/output wires away from the ground/9v wires? Also, make sure that the ground for the LFO is isolated from the signal ground; that those two meet at the DC jack. That was my recent problem with the EQD Sea Machine.

Have a read here.  Looks like a PITA to apply to this layout however.
