Datasheet vs DCA55

Hi you guys, I am building an Aion Blueshift.

I got my 1N5225 diodes from Mouser.

The data sheet says the cathode is banded, but the DCA55 says the anode is banded.

What to do? Socket it? Nuke it from orbit to really make sure?  thx...

If you don't have a DMM you could try powering an led with it.
V+ -> diode -> 1k resistor -> led -> ground

Reverse the diode orientation. Whichever way the led lights up will tell you which is which.

FWIW I've never seen a banded anode, but who knows.

Thanks for your response, IIRC certain "magic" Russian diodes banded anodes...
