Dominator - the second try - fuzzy /noisy (in a bad way)

loder
Hi again,

- second try with desoldered parts from the first build.
- new board - new cuts - new bridges
- multimetered every single part before placing and soldering.
- new bf245 transistors
- new tl072 ic´s

in some constellation of the potis i can get a hint of what this pedal can do, and its very promising,
would like to finish it.

Problem:
-effect just kicks in when level is beyond 85 % best by 100% open
 everything below kills all tone.
-very noisy, no sustain
-overall very fuzzy sounds like two fuzzpedals in chain

what works:
-enough gain (still when gain is reduced to 0)
-EQ so far, i can hear that high and bass are up to work. because of the fuzzyness
  cant speak for the mids

thanks in advance

the bad options with recycled parts is:
they look like placed right, soldered right  - but when at last checked everything again -
every damn brige, every damn hole, every part - knifed every line again (and again and...)

then you check if you forgott to solder some part or it didnt solder well you might find some of this:

it reached in the hole it was soldered and had the typical peak of a soldered tip but it didnt hold on very well.

what works:
- pretty everything (not sure about the mids but i havent played much around with it,  just
  a quick walkthrough)

what doesnt work:
-i do get a high shrill squeek when gain is at 100%

 any advice someone?

P.S.:
most of all was talking to myself here, but i hope i could help someone to look closer with his/her build.
and posting my problems kept me on clinging to this pedal and its challenges.
  - dont give up
  - dig deeper
it isnt so hard after all :)

it is fun and surely i will build some new :)

a Phaser is next i think

thanks for your help

yes!

But the Pedal is surely Hell  - im not into Metal, just wanted to try a high gain circuit cause i havent done one. But it´s pretty Fun to play around with it. Like it especially with the Stealer (Marshall simulation)

If you think it´s too much of everything (Bass & Mids) or muddy, try a Tubescreamer (Gain to zero and just some boost) behind it  -   Screamin Angels!

Btw: next build is a silicon fuzzface - well that shouldnt be as hard to build as this one :)
