Dual Effect/Single Set of Controls

Dulouz
Hey Everyone,

I have a question about wiring two boards up together, but still only having one set of knobs to control both. I'm mainly talking about how Devi Ever combines two circuits in pedals like the Ruiner (two Dark Boosts) or the Ninety (two Punch Hates) but still only has one volume knob and one intensity knob. I would really like to build one of these in the future, but I need some help figuring out how this is done.

Thanks!

If the pots have the same value, use a dual gang pot.

That makes sense!

How about the input/output and switches?

Just go Input Jack > 3PDT > Board 1 Input and then Board 1 Output > Board 2 Input and then Board 2 Output > 3PDT > Output Jack?

I personally would have two footswitches, just for the versatility of being able to turn the two circuits on separately BUT if you want one switch to turn both on then yes, it will work!

I think you may be right about the switches Geiri.

I think you would still like to have just the two controls though. I would like to fit it in a 1590B or 125B, if possible.

Thanks so much for your help and suggestions!

Thanks dodido!

I was wondering exactly how Devi does it and it looks like you have answered my question.

This is what is so great about building your own pedals. So many options and variations on the same circuit(s)!
