EH 16 second delay mod

Hi guys, long time no post!

I have a EH 16 second delay that a friend has asked me to try & mod.  Basically, as soon as the bypass switch is engaged (effect on), it zaps all of the guitar's bypass tone & adds far too much colour!  Does anyone know of any mods that I could do to it to alleviate this annoyance please?  I have tried changing what I think or assume is the input cap, but that seems to make no difference.  That said, I can't seem to find any info on it, so I may have changed the wrong component.  Just wondering if anyone has one & has performed a similar mod etc etc.

As always, any help will be gratefully appreciated indeed.
