Works perfectly, now that I've sorted out the orientation.

Having never owned a Speaker Cranker, I can't compare it to anything but YouTube videos, but it certainly sounds very close. All of the pot range is usable, from light gain to light distortion. But like the Speaker Cranker, it holds onto all the dynamics of the original: a light touch is a radically different sound than a heavier one.
