i finished this one and worked on it for a few days. idk if it's correct but i am yet to revise it and see if something is off. if you noticed something is off please let me know :)

thank you Mark!
i edited a couple mistakes i made and reposted it. how can we move this one to the verified section? does somebody need to build it to verify it first? i triple checked it and everything seems okay. |

Yes someone will need to physically build it and as soon as it’s confirmed I’ll move it to verified.
Nice job 👍🏻 |

Hello! i've done this layout and it didn't work. I noticed ic4 is mislabeled. it should be LM348 (not 384). gonna get some and try it!

i am sorry for the wrong information about the IC4 (idk how i messed that)
you can use a TL074 if you have that on hand and try it. as for the Q2. it's a JFET and the drain and source are interchangable. i have the pedal right now on my pedal board and i will try to reverse them just to be sure. also, is there any sound at all or what? and it would be great if you could take some pictures for it front and back to check if maybe you messed something. and on my part i will look at the layout again to make sure it 100% matches the schematic i used and verified. |

Thanks for the fast reply!
That makes sense about Q2 i was not totally sure about it😅 Here are some pics. ot sure if it's possible to spot something. is not wired yet 'cause i allways test it first before boxing it... I'll try with the 074 ![]() |

The one you have your board is made using this layout?

From the first look at the board it looks fine, however i don't see the link here:
![]() But that should only affect the octave up only and not make it have no sound at all. Also, you can try to reverse the source and drain pins for Q1 And Q2 as i placed them like that because i thought they are interchangable (they are but idk if they are in this exact situation). You can just do this and put a piece of wire insulation on 1 pin just to make sure they don't touch and see what happens ![]() And tomorrow i will check the layout compared to the schematic again to see if there is a problem. I have the circuit on a breadboard that i used just to test if the schematic works, and it did work. This is the schematic i used. https://docs.pedalpcb.com/project/Schematic-Octarock.png |

Yep, that link and other components are one column to the left (small mistake but doesn't affect). it is underneath the resistor so it's hard to see on the picture.
i did that with the transistor and didnt work (but neither did without that trick). i dont have the 348 yet, though... i'm using ne5532 cause i like them better and i think it doesn't affect I also checked it with the schematic and your layout seems good to me! maybe i have some error eventhough i checked a thousand of times... maybe i'll start again... i get no sound at all:/ i should try an audio probe but for some reason i've never ever tried in tons of circuits...😅 it's seems like a really cool one so i guess it's worth all the effort. thanks for the layout. gonna keep on trying! |

I checked your layout in all possible ways and i'm pretty sure there are no mistakes so, if the schematic is good, it can only be my board and so i'm building another😬! i will come back with news soon

I am sorry but i didn't have time to check the layout again and verify there is nothing wrong with it, however i can verify the schematic is correct as i have it working on my breadboard.
If you say you verified my layout compared to the schematic then maybe your board is the problem. But idk. ![]() Maybe you can wait until i build it on veroboard and see what happens. Or maybe we can trouble shoot the board you made as this will be a great chance for you to learn how to troubleshoot. Make an audio probe and use it to see what is happening. |

i finsihed building it and it's working as it should. however i noticed there is a hum like noise with the octave up (not the fuzzy sound as this it's natural to be fuzzy). idk if the noise is because i did something wrong with the build or because something wrong in the layout. i will try to troubleshoot it and see with an audio probe where the noise is coming from.
