G2D Cream Tone

Lee Oswald
After studying the layout, I've noticed there's not any mention of LED's.
Looks like on the official version, there are three LED's. How should one
go about wiring the LED's on this bugger?

Thanks, as always.
I didn't shoot anyone.

My guess is that they`re not part of the layout but they are in the off board wiring. 1 is a straight forward indicator led and is wired as such, the other 2 indicate either blues or solo mode so basically you use a dpdt switch for the solo switch and use the extra pole to wire the leds. Run 9v to both anodes using your preferred current limiting resistor, connect the cathodes to lugs 1 & 3 on the second pole of the solo/blues switch and connect lug 2  to ground.
That`s the way I did it. I`ve not seen an original but that was my take on it.

Thanks for responding Dexxyy.

I figured it was probably off board, but I still don't trust my own
judgement on these things, as I've only complete two vero builds
thus far.

I can do what you've described, I'll just have to go slowly, triple
check each move and really think about what I'm doing. But I wasn't
about to make a move until I had gotten input from someone more knowledgable
and experienced.

Thanks again.

Yep, Dexxyy's bang on.

DPDT
1    6
2    5
3    4

1 = solo switch 1 (from board layout)
2 = solo switch 2 (from board layout)
3 = nuthin
4 = "normal" LED cathode (negative leg)
5 = ground
6 = "solo" LED cathode (negative leg)

As Dexxyy described, run power to a 2k2 resistor (or other value, depending on how bright you want your LEDs).  Connect the 2k2 resistor to both the "Solo" LED anode (positive leg) and "Normal" LED anode.

You've got the right idea for sure to take it slow and triple check everything.  The G2D is ambitious, but completely doable as a 3rd project as long as you're patient and careful.  It also sounds fantastic, so it'll be worth the effort (and then some!).

Good luck!

Actually, for bonus points you instead of feeding pin/lug 2 of the DPDT a straight ground connection, you could feed it ground from your on/off 3PDT via the LED's anode connection.  This will make it so that your channel switching LEDs are only on when the effect is on.

so...

if we assume you're using the following offboard instructions (first diagram):

I prefer to have the channel led`s on in bypass, means I know which channel I`m on when I step on the bypass switch rather than step on the bypass then have to change channel.

While the G2D Cream Tone is a bit involved, I can't imagine
it's any worse than building a full on Klon, buffer, charge pump and
all.

That was a project that I'm sure helped ruin my eye sight.
