Also I realized I could have left out the cut between pins 8 and 9 on the CD4049 and omitted that short link at the bottom of the double links.

No worries dude. While I have my old PC booted up, did you want a gain control on the transistor gain stage or is this how you wanted it?

Yes a gain control please. Can you also make the adjustment that
you mentioned in the last post. I'm having trouble figuring out which cut
and jumper wire you mean. Thank you very much!
