Green Rhino MkII

rosshenning
I bought the Green Rhino MkII, and I absolutely love the sound of this pedal!  I have seen some posts where people said that the Green Rhino was really just another variant of the Tubescreamer.  I have a TS808, and I can tell you without hesitation that this pedal does not sound like a Tubescreamer.  I want to build one to tinker with, but I have looked everywhere I know to look and cannot find a schematic or layout for this pedal.  I pulled the pedal apart and did an inventory of all of the parts, and I've taken high-res photos of the front and back of the board.  I started trying to trace it, but I found that I flat don't have the patience, nor the talent to do that.  I was hoping that if I posted the materials here, someone else who has an interest in building this pedal might help me in this endeavor.  I'd be happy to answer any questions that come up.

I've posted the photos here, along with an Excel file containing the parts list.  I admit that I may be mistaken on one or more of the box caps values.  There are some labeled 1j1j that I guessed are 1uF.  If someone can validate or correct me that would be appreciated.

Okay...since a lot of folks read the post, but no one replied, I decided I would do my best to try to trace this circuit out myself.  I'm hoping someone will be willing to take a look and let me know if I've missed anything obvious.  Once I'm pretty sure the tracing is correct, I'll post this over on the request thread to see if anyone would be willing to convert this to vero.  Please cut me some slack on the layout as this was my first attempt and I'm sure that there are many here who could have done a lot better job of drawing this out.

Nice job Ross.  I'll download the scheme and have a good look at it

Digging this up... :)

Has this been realised by someone by any chance? I've heard great things about it, but als othat it's basically a Tubescreamer. Anyone experience with this?

Hi.

I was wondering if you can help me with something.
I like the tone of Green Rhino and I would like to use it as a clean(ish) boost.
But is has too much drive.
Will replacing the 3K3 resistor (R21 on the original PCB) with a 4K7 resitor help?

Thanks.
