The Smooth switch doesn't really do much and I think Gain 1 and 3 are reversed.  Otherwise its a cool sounding versatile pedal!

Thanks for verifying this.
I've reversed the gain as you've suggested.
Have you tried different Germanium diodes? You could even use an old Ge transistor (see Throbak Overdrive Boost).
