LIpo 3 cel 11v batteries

lucas abela
i'm wondering if it would be possible to use rechargeable 2 cell lipos batteries running 11.1 volts with most of these 9v vero boards?

i've read here somewhere that some of you use 18v supplies for more headroom so was thinking can i use these instead of 9 v batteries like these

as the hobby market rechargeable lipos are far cheaper than 9v batteries

let me know your thoughts

You could do that. If you want 9V you could just regulate it down to 9V anyways.

You just have to make sure that your components have a max voltage rating higher than whatever voltage you supply

Obviously you're going to need a snap that fits the battery. Probably best to make it as easily accessible as possible since rechargeable batteries die faster than normal ones

Like Travis said, if you'd like to use them you sure can as long as either you ensure your components can handle the extra voltage or regulate it down to 9v.

Be aware though that LiPo batteries are notoriously sensitive to shorts, and can cause massive and violent fires if you aren't careful.
