Someone way cleverer than me might be able to look at this clip and see how this very cool sounding (judging by clips I've heard) overdrive works.  It's beyond me!

I looked at the video and the partially populated PCB images.  It doesn't look that complicated, maybe something like a BB preamp (dual op amps, two clipping diodes, bass/treble tone controls).  It seems like it's in that area tone wise.
