MOSFET as diode?

In the Pharaoh supreme diagram, it is said to wire MOSFETs as Diodes. HOw do you do that? Isn't a Mosfet a transistor and therefor has 3 pins to begin with?

Connect the fets gate and drain together.  There are many examples of this...a popular one being the Fulltone OCD, using MOSFETs as hard clippers.  Here is the schematic for Harley Bentons clone.
