Negative Voltage Converter Stupid Question

boratto
In circuits that use -9V converter, can i connect the ground wire that comes from the circuit into the standard offboard wire showed on this site? In that case, the position of the LED remains the same - assuming i will use both ground and +9V direct direct from the dc jack to the offboard wiring ground.
In a practical way, will be connected in some point standard negative ground from offboard and ve+ ground from circuit.

The pedal will be daisy chained with same power supply with others negative ground standard pedals.

Using the inverter, ground remains 0V and so yes those connections are the same and daisy chaining is no problem.  But the wiring of the circuit is then as per a positive ground effect and so any polarised components needs reversing to what you would expect in an NPN effect.  That is all taken into consideration with the layouts, and so the parts are all in the correct orientation.  But if you're supplying the LED from the -9V supply then the LED will need turning so you are connecting to the cathode with the anode grounding through the switch.

Or you could of course supply the LED as usual, with 9V > CLR > anode > cathode > switch > ground, because you have both + and - 9V in the box.

Thank you Mark, this is all information i was looking for!
