Re: Noise in last 10% fuzz

Ah, great thanks. Sorry, with new stuff I can come across a bit slow I guess :)

I have a lot of learning to do.. Having a belton brick wired and 2 circuits is not the best way to learn to have tidy wiring when you just start I guess...

I ordered the VanDamme shielded wire toobtw, won't arrive until next week unfortunately though.. Another step in the right direction!

So... me again.. :s

Did not have a lot of time, but finally got around to using the shielded wire. Did all the input and outputs, wired one side of the groundwire to ground, but still the same problem, sigh...

I just don't get it. It's still an option to just remove the last turn of the fuzz, but i want to save changing the characteristics till last. Besides, with high volume I still have it even when the fuzz is low.

Though high volume really is high volume. I'm going to change that pot as well. Maybe that's a faulty one. Changed wires, changed the fuzz pot, changed the dpdt switch but no luck.

Removed the power wires. away from the signal ones. Only at one part the power wire crosses the fuzz pot. The input wire goed from the fuzz pot to the switch which is directly underneath it. But that's not a lot.

If anyone has other ideas... i'm open to anything...

my suggestion as well shield input from guitar and into the board. here lately i have had to do a lot of shielding . i did a wampler pinnacle  and shielded both switches both board and jack i put outputs and still have some issues. ill shield the tone and the contour next.i have noticed i have less issues when i put the jacks on the sides instead of the top and  use the 1590bbm boxes. cramming the box full has caused me issues . it makes it harder to seperate every thing.

its never a bad idea to do extra shielding. it may work great at home and you get into a studio or live stage with neon lights or dimmers and you discover more issues

I picked myself back up, and went at it again :D

I shielded the input and output by using shielded wire, if that's what you mean, but no luck.

I replaced the volume pot of the fuzz as well, hoping that that was broken, still no luck. Replaced it with a 250k, same.

Replaced the 5088's with new ones, no luck.

Could it be that the reverb is in the same enclosure? It always seems to happen with 2 effects in one enclosure. Since the fuzz is after the reverb in this box..

Like the effect you have when you put a fuzz face after a wah?

Well, otherwise I'll try another fuzz in the box, see if this helps..

I used a 1590BB by the way, put the jacks on the side. The biggest problem is that the switch to turn the fuzz on (which means the input and output go there) is on the top left. Meaning it's above the input Jack and the power runs there as well.
