Panasonic versus box caps?

toddvirgil
Does anyone have a preference or opinion? The panasonics seem a bit harder to source, but I'm wondering if anyone has a reason why they might be better than the box caps?

I've got sets of both, and think they are both excellent choices.  The box caps are great when the pitch required is 5mm (although can usually still be used comfortably for 2.5mm and 7.5mm pitches).  Panasonics come into their own for the longer spans between the cap legs, and are uniformly small which makes them nice to get in a cramped space sometimes, particularly in larger sizes when the box caps get larger.

Multilayer ceramics are another great type to use.  Everything I've made with them has sounded great, they're very small, you can get them from pf values up to 10uf, and they're cheap as chips in quantity.
