Parts Searching

piltdownman
I wish there was a way to search through the blog posts based on parts.  I buy these oddball IC's and trans for some project then I forget which one it was.  At least I'll have it in stock when and if I figure it out.

Hi dude, ( I do that too, buy loads of parts & forget what they're for)

you can do a search, click in the "search this blog" box that sits above the list of units on the RHS of the homepage & type your keyword.  It will search & provide results for every post that contains that keyword.

Hope this helps,

Matt

Haha.. That's exactly how I started... It's good though because you'll end up with pretty much everything in stock... I still come across some parts and think 'what the fcuk was that for?!''

I tried that.  The only problem is that if no one mentioned it in the comments, it won't show up.  I need the search to look at all the diagrams and read the text in those.  No doubt someone at google is working on that already.  In the meantime, I have some parts ready to go.  Thanks, guys

Ah right, I see what you mean.  Maybe for future, you could leave a comment on ones that you like, listing said part, kinda like hash-tagging I guess!?  I realise that doesn't help you for current builds but...

Something will come along and I'll be pleasantly surprised that I already have the parts in question.  I am banking some good karma.
