Has anyone verified this?   I was trying to follow all the mods in the MkI thread but now i'm really confused.

hey man. since this is in the unverified section it is still unverified. not sure what thread you're referring to, but i would assume that the mods for the MKI version will not work for the MKII version.

Sorry Rocket88, I'm new around here and still getting my head around how it all works.

I was referring to the original post

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/pink-jimi-photons-photonic-juergulator.html

There's a whole bunch of comments from pinkster about mods to the original, changes to pot values and transistors but i'm afraid i got a bit lost about half way down the comments.

Perhaps i should just build both versions and see what happens.

Hey man no worries, that why I pointed that out to you. I just quickly looked over some of the comments and they may or may not work. Pot values are an easy change, as are transistors, just use sockets for them and you can swap as many times as you want in seconds. I actually aways socket my transistors to I can play around with them to get something I like and prevent the risk or killing them with too much heat fr the soldering iron.

So, I built this and it works but i've got a question about the transistors.

Is it possible to determine what hfe value these type have without a meter?  (I've seen the dca55 mentioned)?

Yea man. On the main page there's a germanium tester. It allows you to determine the hfe with you're multimeter.

Thanks, i'll have a look.

One thing that is bothering me with the build is that not much happens unless the harmonic pot is set almost fully on, then it seems to work.

I can't test the transistors yet so i have no idea if they are in the right sort of area, but i have socketed them so i can swap them out.

Hey PMowdes,

Did you ever get the harmonics pot issue solved?  i'm having the same issue, and i can't figure it out.  Did you come to any conclusion?

May try this one since I loved stacking the old layout but am really curious how far apart this is from the Karma Suture. Anyone got one to look at?

No i didn't. I had a good look around the various forums and there are lots of very strange comments.  I'm not even sure that PJP knows how it works exactly.  I've built the harmonic perculator and the Jerculator, both of which are awesome

I've also tried to build the dual perc and jerc with the surface mounted components but i only got one side of the board to work.

cool.  thanks for the reply.

Out of curiosity, which of the 2 do you like better...the "perc" or the "jerc"?  i'll probably build both too, but your opinion will help me decide which one to build first.  i've built a few of the other perc clones so far, and none sound quite right yet - especially the "harmonics" manipulation.

did you find any cool sounding transistor swaps (other than the recommended) for either "perc" or "jerc"?

thanks again!

Funnily enough I don't think I've ever tested them side by side.  I kinda been away from pedal building for a few weeks after a frustrating Meatball build, and my guitar is in bits as I fit some new pickups.

If I get round to it i'll let you know.

I'd have a look at this tho, if you can manage to get the smd's to work you can test the two circuits out side by side, and switch between diodes of your choice.
