Pladask Elektrisk - workshop delay issues

Hello! Hope you're all having a good start to the new year. :)

Just finished putting together the pladask elektrisk - workshop delay that's been verified here.

Its 'working' although it feels like it ought to be working better. I've built it as per the Vero layout and except for two things:
- removed the 10k resistor that connected to the power and replaced it with a jumper over that cut. This was suggested in the thread and it resolved an initial issue I was having.
- used a 7805 instead of the 78L05... I've turned it around so the pins are appropriately orientated (I think).

Issues:

Feedback:
The feedback seems subdued. At max feedback it can only muster a handful of repeats and they are quite faint. The trimpot doesn't seem to do anything.. and when I try to connect the 'instant feedback' cable.. nothing happens.

Modulation:

Modulation is very faint.. until I press down on the pot lugs then it modulates great!!
