Don't want to be a worry monger but thought i would pass this on.
My work has recently emailed a warning about oil filled capacitors and transformers dating from pre-1986. They mention that most pre-1976 ones contain PCBs, Polychlorinated Biphenyls which are very dangerous to human health and last in the environment for a very long time. It is thought also that many companies carried on using them between 1976 and 1986. Oh, and they very easily penetrate skin even if gloves are worn.
