Sorry guys I just noticed that I forgot to add the 22uf electro between -9v and gnd. Layout is now updated

I wanted to share the layout I did based on your Yardbox. This is closer to a Tonebender Mark III.

EDIT: I noticed a polarity problem with the power inverter so I have fixed this as of 8-3-15 - no one complained so I guess no one noticed, but this layout actually works really well.

This has a power inverter so you can use regular +9 voltage.

I use matched lower HFE AC125s for Q1 and Q2, and a higher gain one for Q3. I took out the gain pot and eliminated a resistor which gave this yardbox more gain.
