Pulldown resistor

Quick question-
For circuits without them, can i put a pulldown reisitor on the footswitch.. i dont see any reason why not...?

It works as long as the pulldown stays connected in bypass. Attach one side to the lug that connects directly to the board input (not the lug that connects to the input jack), the other side to any non-switched ground lug.
