well since there's so much issues over getting the Quantum Mystic to work right, and the fact that Mike Scheidt only uses an old ross distortion i thought about not only how to add a tonestack onto a simple normal ross distortion, but what would be a good one to have. the more i thought about it, i came to the conclusion why not just add an active Bax tonestack. this way you can get full control over your tone, without having a ton of knobs. also, i've found this to be one of my favorite tonestacks. note, the vales in the tonestack have been changed slightly to make it more bass friendly.
i haven't built this yet as i haven't had the time, and just made the layouts. i'm fairly confident these are good to go. but, as always, would be good to have another set of eyes take a look. i did my best to make this as small as i could without having too many standup resistors, i could easily get them down, but it would be larger then 18x18, which should fit in a 1590 and 125b easily.
i used the ross schematic from homewrecker, and Freppo's bax in a box. i also took the values from vinces verified trace and made the changes to the layout.

the trimmer according the Freppo is essentially a gain/volume-pot, so if you determine what the value should be the trimmer can be replaced with a fixed resistor. if you plan on making more then one of these, i think that would be the best option.
