Ranger FX Air Traffic White Noise-ish

Marbles
Hello there :)

Does anyone know an effect to recreate the white noises this pedal can make? It would be an awesome pedal to own, but for now, my wallet won't allow it.

I'm sort of after this sound by the brilliant band Camera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPv4ljSMBOg

It starts around 1:30 I guess.. I know it's not made by a guitar, but when I look at the demo of the Air Traffic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6WNe9U1EXU

Around: 2:00 and especially in combination with the strymon at 5:30 it's making a sound that (in my ears) is very alike..

Anyone have an idea in what direction I should look for an effect that's comparable? The squeezed white noiseish sounds (no idea how to describe it)

from what I'm hearing in the Camera sound, there is no envelope filter. to me it sounds like a narrow band noise, so you're pretty spot on: a white noise generator through a filter (like the systech harmonic energizer) should give this type of sound, but you should change the cutoff frequency with every note...

on the other hand, the rainger pedal seems "quite simple", you'd need a white noise generator ( paul stevenson has one on his great website, of course: http://www.paulinthelab.com/2012/07/white-noise-generator-stripboard.html ), a mixer stage to blend you're incoming signal, some kind of dirt section (before or after mixing, I don't know...) and an envelope filter.

Thanks for your reply!

That sounds like an interesting, yet for me daunting project haha. I had hoped there was something like that already.
On the other hand.. it would make an interesting project for me as a learning project..

I could blend the guitarsignal with the white noise, but it would be even better if the white noise would somehow be created bij the guitarsignal, so it could take over the pitch. I'll think about it :D
