Built this but have an issue. Switch 2 is only working in the middle setting but if you unplug one or both of the 1N4005s the switch pointing towards the SW1 connection that side fires up. Any ideas what is going on? Thanks for the layout Alex.

Switched the 1n4005s round and that seems to have solved that side of the switch. But the other side i just get very weak signal. Could there be another diode in the wrong orientation. Its weird as it seems to follow the schematic.

Ok verified! It seems biasing the drain to 4.5v is not the way to go. You need to turn it until you get decent volume in that third switch position. It sounds really good.

Sorry but I was away and could not reply.
I'm glad it works!
The original uses a 15K resistor instead of a trimmer.
Does it sound like the videos?
Is the Tone pot working right?

All sounds fine and dandy. Tone control works fine. Sounds pretty close to the videos although i don't have a Telecaster. Ignore that post about turning the diodes round its just a case of dialing in the sound with the trimpot so you're layout is good. Cheers.
