Re: Seppuku Fx Octave Drone

Synsound
I just built and tested this one. To me it sounds like the space fuzz but more full. No hiss issues here. Slow metallic swells with gain up and full guitar volume. The softer the notes are played the  more "normal" the sound you get but it is still super fuzzy. The switch seems pointless as is. The 4.7n sounds dulled and trashy.. In a bad way. I will play with this value in the next few days.
Over all I can't imagine wanting both this and the Space Fuzz. I would recommend this one as it is less parts and sounds far better in comparison.  Just my 2 cents.

Give a man a match and he'll be warm for a day.
Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Hello,
I just ride octave drone on test bench, 4,7nf unsatisfactory after several éssai the 33nF not appear hurt.
From my side the switch changes the sound well.
The sound seems close to the original.

merci bien, mopo. belle idée!

sometimes i want to hear a circuit before committing to vero but am rubbish at translating schemtaics to breadboard. i find it even more confusing than schematic to vero. so i tend to put those maybees off and never get around to them. now i have one excuse less for not trying them out asap. an excellent idea for a site.

demo good too. have got a feeling i'll be visiting your site a lot.

Hi,
Thank you Tabby cat,
In fact I always do a breadboard mounting, at the beginning it was out of obligation because no having no concept of electronics I do not always understand the shemas.
Then it's become a habit and even a hobby.
I've realized that it was a shame to have done all these pedal assemblies on breadboard and not keeping layouts.
So from now on I will archive them on my website.

The I just add the breadboard PlimSoul if its' t interested.

Message written with google translation, I do not know if everything is transcribed.

I've just made this so I'd like to say thanks to Anders for posting the vero board image and also to MOPO for his suggestions about one of the capacitors. I made a small change myself; I liked both the 4.7nf capacitor and the 33nf one so I attached both of them to a 100K linear pot and I'm using that to blend between the two capacitors as required.

I've found that I can only get sounds to be similar to the audio on the seppuku fx website if I put a loud reverb pedal in front of the octave drone - this works really well and sounds like crumbly decaying audio destruction :)

This one is great. I used the 4.7n in mine and thought it sounded fine. Great fuzz. Thanks for the Layout Anders.
