Soldering stations

Alright I've been using a little 30w soldering iron to make about 200 pedals and its still fine. Same tip since the beginning!

Anyways, I want to upgrade to a good soldering station but for a decent price and ships to Iceland. Any suggestions? Hint, I use eBay A LOT!

Not too sure if these ship to Iceland, but I have this very model & it's fab.  I also have a Weller station, but I use the cheapo station more.  It's real handy with that heat gun for heat shrink tubing & for removing SMD components, as it's description suggests!

Damn, doesn't ship. There might be a different seller with the same thing.

Since I've been using the little 30w thing forever.. What temperature do you guys prefer? I use normally 1-1.2mm 60/40 solder.

About 300deg with a 0.7mm solder for me.

Those listings will say "British seller" etc etc, but mine came direct from China, so keep fishing Geiri!

+1 for the Hakko FX-888. It's the best investment I ever made for pedal-building. They just discontinued it, so you might be able to snap one up for cheap.
I use 63/37 .002 solder at about 350 degrees C. Any hotter, and you start lifting traces.

Thanks for the link to the station Matt.  I ended up getting this one because it also came with a load of extra tips which I thought would come in handy.

First impression it seems excellent.  The iron doesn't feel quite as robust as my standalone iron, but I'm sure the controllable heat will more than make up for it.

Only just seen this sorry Mark, but no worries dude. It's a sweet unit ain't it (how geek can this get?) but for what they cost....

Mine is exactly the same as yours, just different branding. The only thing that really annoys me about mine is the iron lead isn't long enough, other than that I have no conplaints!  ;0)

I've been using one of these for the last 2 years, cheap as chips, good heat stability and easy to get replacement tips on ebay -
