www.semicon-data.com/index.html - nice for quick reference (pinout. hfe, etc.). SOmetimes their internal search engine goes haywire, but most of the tie it works.
http://alltransistors.com/ - excellent for more detailed info on trannies. Their database has virtually everything, incl your Russian germaniums.
http://english.electronica-pt.com/components-cross-reference - good one for finding replacement semiconductors.
