Something for Warming Up a Bass?

cpsmusic
Hi Folks,

I'm currently planning a fairly simple bass DI setup for recording. ATM I'm thinking of using the Fender Bassman Pre (see here) and the Really Cheap Compressor. I'd like to have something that can add a bit of warmth to the sound - not obvious distortion or fuzz or even overdrive. Maybe something like those "tube sound" simulators for HiFi. Any suggestions as to something that would be good for this sort of thing?

Cheers,

Chris

Silver Blues
You could use a Blueberry on low gain settings, or even something like Soulsonic's Folk Driver. Sounds to me like what you're wanting to do is introduce a subtle amount of second harmonic "hair" into your sound without making it obvious you're overdriving it.
