Speaker/External wiring help.

Kinski
Hey, so I'm building a synth for a family member for the holidays. I'm gonna build Paul-In-The-Lab's Drone Synth. http://www.paulinthelab.com/2012/10/devils-triangle-drone-synth-stripboard.html

I'd like to put it in a box with an internal speaker wired up. I'd also like to add an external output jack so he could plug it into a guitar amp, pa, etc. The output jack would turn off the internal speaker when being used. I'm sure this is easy to do, but I'm not sure how to wire it up.

I'd great appreciate it if someone could let me know how to pull this off. Thanks!

Hi Kinski

I think all you need to do is use a switching jack like one of these

When the plug is inserted it disconnects the feed from the other socket connection (which would go to the speaker circuit).  Take the plug out and the speaker circuit is back connected again.
THe plug would go to your PA etc
