TRI-Vibe is ticking on and off

strassercaster
i built a trivibe. It was ticking badly till i got rid of a tl074 and used a tl064. Problem solved or so i thought. I started another one and the day i finished it the first one started to tick. the new one was fine until i boxed it. It is a very bad tick when on or off.I have a couple of things to try but was looking for suggestion. First thing i noticed is the 100k going to the depth pot isnt like that on the schematic.i believe that 100k should be between legs 13 and 14 with the 10n. i found one other post about ticking for trivibe and a response saying the 10n and 100k couple legs one and 2 for u3a to reduce slew rate during transistion could someone look at the schematic and layout and confirm my suspisions? Both are in 125b boxes and the ticking wasnt there before boxing. could it just be a simple mattere of rerouting or shielding the input and output wires ?

I could be wrong but i think this could be an issue .

Layout is correct (this is the original: http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php/v/slackers-stuff/trivibeboardfinal.jpg.html)
The 100K resistor (from pin 2 on the schematic) goes to Vref.
Same as Depth 1.
I've drawn my own layout and built it for a friend a while back.
It was ticking once boxed.
My Rate pot was too closed to the IN or OUT socket (don't remember exactly).
I think that shielding pot and wires solved the problem.

Thanks Alex. Both were ticking. I had to shield the ins and outs and the rate pot on ther first one. The second one i got lucky i just spread out the wires and spun the board around and it stopped. Strange i tried rotating the board in the first one and that didnt work. What a great circuit. I made the harbinger one and got the custom LDRS from small bear but this actually sounds as good if not better. It wierd because its only a 2 stage with the clean mixed in and a real univibe in thew chorus setting is a 3 stage with the clean mixed in right?

man frustrated its ticking again hmmm. didnt notice it till i had a very  high gain pedal after it .I wonder why . I have made 2 of them and they tick when off and have high gain pedals after them. i shielded  the hell out of it . I usd shielded wire on ins and outs from jack to footswitch to the circuit board and on the rate pot. . however i did add the led rate to it. I wonder if the extra current draw is hurting. I am also wondering if using 3 diodes instead of the red led if this could help. I love this pedal but it cant go on my board like this. i had ticking with a boss ce2 and Frank NH reworked the layout for a straight run on the 4.5 volts to the flip flop chip. ill try the three diodes if removing the rate pulsing led mod and report back. the funny thing is the one with no shielded wire ticks on ocassion but not like the shielded one. I want to figure this out soon I am making one as a gift for xmas for a old buddy that loves it as well
