Vince
A mojo valvecaster would be good on either vero or tagboard.. or both!

Nice one! I'll buy a couple of sockets.. I assume using your 9 to 18v charge pump would be safe to use with this?

I would think that it should work with the voltage doubler. I've been reading about this on DIYSB Forum, all 166pgs, and a lot of guys have used one. Not to mention the number of mods people have done, like input switch, boost switch, putting a SHO in hit the tube with more input to overdrive it more. It's a good read.

I would love to not just see the valvcaster, but the twincaster, which is basically two valvcasters back to back.

I saw the twincaster too and that would be a great layout also, although probably more than what I need as I'm looking for a soft valve boost for my blues junior.

I'll have a scan through the thread, a couple of mod switches wouldn't do any harm.

Cheers

I know what you mean, but you can never have too many tubes.

One of the things i saw were a lot of people saying 2 tubes makes a really nice medium gain overdrive, if you build a tricaster or quadcaster then you get into heavy distortion.

lol, well i don't know if anyone has made a quadcaster, but i will gladly do it if the layout is made. and like i said, you can never have too many tubes.

Re: Valvecaster

It would definitely tempt me, my only concern is that the more tubes, the more volts are needed to push them properly. But this is DIY so I'm sure there would be a way to charge pump every tube and probably nearly kill yourself in the process.... it wouldn't be a male dominated hobby if risk of death wasn't involved!

haha totally true Vince. I just did a tube change in my amp, just to try some those reissue tung-sols, so I not have a few tubes lying around to play with so there is a definite possibility that I will be posting photos of a quadcaster once I figure out how to chart everything properly and get a box big enough for 4 tubes hanging out, lol. I would need a little help with it though. I am definitely building this as is and want to build a twincaster first.

I got to work up to my 2p2 tube amp build I have planned.
