Hey all,

Check out this link. I posted this in the Library for those who appreciate the math and physics behind the effects pedals we all love. This is a great resource for people looking to design effects and learn why a certain tone stack or filter section sounds the way it does.

This site covers all these flavors of dirt:
"
: Boss OD-1 (QuadVersion)
: ElectroHarmonix Blackfinger
: ElectroHarmonix Deluxe Bigmuff
: Maxon OD-880 (Original)
: Mosrite Fuzzrite (GermaTr Ver.)
: Roland BeeGee
: Supatonebender1978
: YAMAHA OD-01

yeah man.. I've had my eye out for something like this for a while. I studied math and physics myself in undergrad and grad school, sometimes it's just easier to grasp something when you can see the logic behind it in this way.

If there are any other resources like this, I would love to take a look.

ElectricDruid breaks a few pedals down in a more qualitative and graphical way, but his articles are also very useful in understanding how these circuits work. Here is his analysis of the Boss MT2 Metal Zone:
http://electricdruid.net/boss-mt-2-metal-zone-pedal-analysis/

He breaks down a wide variety of other synth/stompbox- related phenomena too, like Phase Distortion Synthesis, Wavetable Oscillators, and more..

Definitely check out ElectricDruid's site.. he also sells a bunch of ICs, a few of which he designed himself.
