Update 06-12-2016 I was looking over the datasheet for the Belton Bricks and noticed pins 2 & 4 of the brick 2 are connected internally. They show the 5v regulator's ground connected to pin 2, and the rest of the circuit's ground connected to pin 4.

Can't easily replicate that setup with this vero, but eliminating the link connecting pins 2 & 4 should be good enough. (removing the link - verified by me)

Ok I just sold one . It sounded fine. Did your fix change the sound at all? Most of these builds have 2 and 4 connected whats the difference if internal or external> This did sound different that the other one i made I wrote it up to using a lmedium brick instead of a short . Sounded good just different

I didn't notice any change in sound by breaking the link.

Just eliminates a ground loop, which doesn't seem like an issue.

I've also done the same with both a Chasm and Ping reverb. Did not notice any sonic change with them either.

When I build another, I'll stick to the datasheet with the 5v regulator's ground pin connected  to pin 2 of the Belton and pin 4 of the Belton connected to the circuit ground. We'll see if that improves anything.

Hello mao,
Thnx for all the layouts. There wonderful! I'm curious, have you done a layout for the btdr-3? I'm going to build this and need to buy a brick and was wondering if the brick 3's are worth buying for this. Or maybe inspire you to make a layout for the 3;)

Thanks for the kind words Ravenswerd!

There is a brick 3 layout for the madbean Ping on the main site.

I've built that one too, but now that I think about it, I never did hookup the brick 3 that I later purchased. At the time, I only had a brick 2 and originally built it without hooking up the room connections.

I like the Wampler with the brick 2 as is, and never went back to finish up the Ping.

But you may have a point, maybe the brick 3 will further enhance this one. I'm not sure though as I do like it as is. Still using it to this day.

But I will go back and finish up the Ping...and I'll get back to you on the "room" control.

strassercaster may be able to add some insight as he has built quite a few brick 2s and brick 3s

for sure mao!
I meant to emphasize the brick 3 for the chasm reverb as you had mentioned in the previous comment.

Sorry, never did get back to modify the Chasm, but I still have that one too.

I prefer the Wampler for a more amp-like reverb, and the Chasm for more ethereal sounds.

But looking at the layouts, I think the easiest way would be to get one of these 10 pin connectors and 10 pins and simply hook up the Room Control directly to the connector pins 7-10.

I already have the connector and pins, I'll give it a try on both the Wampler and Chasm sometime this week and report back.
