clockman: i love baroness. you should checkout kylesa if you haven't. amazingly talented musicians, a million pedals, and gorgeous female guitar player.

side note: funny thing about ghost, i was at their 1st US show and have seen them every time they play new york since, except 2 times when they opened for metallica and i refuse to see metallica again (worst and most disappointing show ever), and once when i was away on vacation with my gf. their first show had about 100 people packed in the basement at websterhall. everyone in the front, basically just not on the stage, myself and a friend included, were given win and satan crackers during some ritual. haven't seen that happen since.

travis: yea, i swore the sword was going to be playing psyco, but it's ok i was really happy with the bands that played. i may not remember much from that weekend, but i do remember being very with everyone i saw. shit, from earthless on i was on some other planet, time was non-existant.

beaker: i swore that line was from airheads. such an amazing, funny, and underrated movie. two of my favorite lines:

#1
Chazz:
Who'd win in a wrestling match, Lemmy or God?

Chris Moore:
Lemmy.

Chris Moore:
... God?

Rex:
Wrong, dickhead, trick question. Lemmy *IS* God.

further in the test

Chazz:
Okay, lemme ask you a question: who's side did you take in the big David Lee Roth-Van Halen split?

Chris Moore:
What?

Marcus:
What kind of question is that?

Chazz:
Who's side did you take: Halen or Roth?

Chris Moore:
...Van Halen

Ian:
HE'S A COP!

#2
when they cop is telling the crowd that Chazz is really Chester and a geek, and Lemmy from the crowd shouts out that he was editor of the school magazine.

every time i see that i fall down laughing. beaker have you heard of Tyr or Heidvolk? i think you may really dig them. they're part of that whole scandanavian "viking" or "folk" metal scene. i've seen them a few times, and hung out with them at their shows, really nice guys to boot.

It actually from Aki Kaurismaki's hilarious Finnish film "Leningrad Cowboys Go America", IMHO the best rock band - road trip movie ever.

Airheads is funny though!

Ok I'm such a dork I'm watching this video and all I can think is that explorer bass is so rad and I wonder if these guys rocked the long pointy shoes before it became a [bizarre] trend in Mexico

Not sure when the pointy winkle pickers became a trend in Mexico, but the movie is from '89. Just as the Soviet Union was imploding.

If you have never seen it before, it's hilarious.

Like Spinal Tap, the fictional band were all musicians, and actually played all the songs - even though they are miming badly.

The Leningrad Cowboys are still performing today. They played a huge open air gig in Helsinki a couple of years ago, backed by the Russian Air Force Choir! The set included Neil Young's Rockin' In The Free World. Oh the irony!
